AIR CONDITIONING

 

A vehicle’s air conditioning system does not create cold air. It actually takes the heat and moisture out of the air that is already in your car, leaving behind cooler air. Having a good understanding of how the components work and being able to identify when you might have an issue, can prevent small issues from turning into very expensive larger repairs.

 

A/C SYSTEM RED FLAGS

HEATING

 

The other function of your HVAC system, equally important to all vehicles but often seasonal in attention from owners. Key to the heating of your cabin if the heater core.

 

A heater core is a radiator-like device used in heating the cabin of a car or truck. Hot coolant from the vehicle's engine is passed through a winding tube of the core, a heat exchanger between coolant and cabin air. Fins attached to the core tubes serve to increase surface area for heat transfer to air that is forced past them by a fan, thereby heating the passenger compartment/cabin.

 

HEATING SYSTEM RED FLAGS
